Traditionally, wedding favors are formed by means of gifts. These items are given to the wedding guests and participants. Most couples consider giving favors and keepsakes as their way of thanking all the people who have shared their time and effort in attending their most memorable day. Wedding favors and keepsakes are items that hold a special importance to the wedded couple as well as to the ceremony itself. These items are ideally picked by the couple, therefore, they sort of show what views the couple have. Also, they are picked according to the desired wedding theme. It’s necessary to have a good choice of party favors, which should be matched with the theme of the ceremony. A smart choice of party favors complete the overall appeal of the wedding and gives great impression to the guests.

The wedding favors serve as a memorabilia of the special event that happened after the wedding ceremony and party has ended. That’s why these items are very important to every wedding. To think of these memorabilia, there are different selections to choose from. A variety of choices are available for different personalities of wedding couples. They can choose what is suited according to their lifestyle, hobbies, interests and likes. Also, choices of these wedding accessories come in simple to elegant appeal. If you have an extravagant wedding, you may want to choose elegant favors, but if you want it simple and casual, pick simple items, and not the other way around. Extravagant items may overwhelm a simple ceremony and a simple one may appear left out during an extravagant party.

Most grooms choose items such as key chains or knives for the male guests, while most brides choose perfumes, soap and candles to give out to female guests. Understanding that these items are from the couple but it has to be appropriate to their receiver’s personality. Furthermore, there are wedding keepsakes that can be co-ed. Such items are wine, photo frames or card holders, coaster and edible favors. These keepsakes are enhanced by adding creative designs and a special message from the wedded couple.

One of the best ways to select an ideal wedding favor is to stick with the traditional type. This idea is always safe, best and never goes out of style. To top some of the traditional wedding keepsakes, consider a gift or flower basket, candles, edible treat such as chocolate, candies, cookies and even wine. Obviously, they are accepted and appreciated by the majority.

For themed weddings, you may consider personalized favors. These items have been customized by adding the personal touch of the couple. The theme, colors and decors of your party may be incorporated in these items. Consider personalized items like bags, candles, coater and the like to come up with personalized and unique party favors. These items may be finished with wrapping that adds an appealing touch.

Distributing your wedding memorabilia is a great way of showing your appreciation to all your guests and to give them souvenirs of long lasting memory of your special day. But as a couple, planning and preparation for these keepsakes is important. Though it should be according to the budget preference, these items don’t have to be expensive. It is just a matter of choosing the right kind that will surely be appreciated by your guests.

I am attending a wedding in November and the reception will be on a large yacht. I found a very flattering denim strapless dress that is very versatile and easy to accessorize. I’m tired of buying dresses for weddings that I won’t wear again so I thought a more versatile dress could be the way to go. I was thinking black/grey tights with heals, maybe a belt, and cardigan w/ some nice accessories.

If the dress was in any other color or material I would not be asking the question. I’ve been totally confused because I’ve noticed that black dresses are now acceptable at weddings. Suggestions?

Wedding favors are little remembrance or gifts given as the bride and groom’s way of thanking their supporters for their presence during their big day. Also, favors are given to spread out the couple’s warm gratitude to their participants, primarily to bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents and circle of friends who have been there throughout the celebration, from the pre-wedding preparation to the wedding day itself. However, wedding favors must be chosen according to your desired wedding theme, like fall wedding for instance. Incorporated during this wedding are favors that denote warmth and intimacy of a fall-themed wedding.

Just like other seasonal weddings, fall weddings also have different favors to choose from. Consider including on your favor’s list homemade jams and wrapped jellies. You can make your personal label with your name, personal message of gratitude and other wedding information. The idea of giving edible favors are perfect to embrace such a beautiful wedding season.

Considering the wedding season, the favorable color scheme for autumn or fall are heavy hues of orange, yellow and red. A good choice of color scheme for fall weddings is important for they reflect the total look of the wedding. Colors and designs of favors should complement as well. Example, favors like gift boxes are usually designed with autumnal flowers and additional ribbons. Also, favor nets should be in red, peach, yellow, orange, brown, plum and gold or a mix of these colors. Fall wedding favors can be enhanced with warm colored leaves for a more rustic appeal and can also used as table decoration.

As with other fall wedding favors, you may consider decorative candles with leaf-shaped designs or silhouettes. Lighted candles during the wedding reception can add a romantic and intimate ambiance for the wedded couple as well as to the guests. Simple candles can be decorated with ribbons, placed in small bags with hanging tags. You can create your own candle favors by purchasing supplies from your local craft stores. Or perhaps, consider online shopping, online stores offer a different variety of pre-packaged candle favors with other extra services like free personalization.

Another option are coaster favors. This can make a fantastic thank you gift for your beloved relatives and friends who have witnessed your memorable wedding. Coaster favors are versatile and can be very stylish. Look for autumn-themed coaster favors that your guests can use all year long. Imagine how you have made your family and friends happy with your coaster favors at their table setting.

Lastly, you may try placing card holders as your wedding souvenir. Just like coaster favors, place card holders are versatile enough to make a dual purpose. Have them on your table during reception and give them away as a photo frame keepsake. Place card holders are used to display table numbers and guests name, but how cool they are to be also made as your wedding picture frame souvenir.

These are just a few fall wedding favors you may opt to choose. You may try researching for other wedding present and other wedding party favors for your autumn-themed shower party.

If you think it’s just too overwhelming to create and assemble your own cheap wedding favors, don’t! Any bride can save herself literally hundreds of dollars if she follows these few simple steps needed to create and assemble wedding favors on her own. With a little bit of planning and effort, you’ll find that you can do it too.

Step #1 – Decide your wedding favors budget.

Even when planning on assembling or making your own cheap wedding favors, you still need an idea of how much money you can spend. Let’s say that you have 200 guests and you want to spend less than $1 for each, so you have a budget of $200. That’s not a bad amount to spend on cheap wedding favors, and should be enough to let you make some very beautiful items.

Step #2 – Start early!

Making your own cheap wedding favors is going to involve a bit more planning, shopping, and work than if you simply picked out favors from a company online. Don’t wait until the week before your wedding to make plans or to start shopping. As a matter of fact, you should probably start today, no matter how far off your wedding is! This way you’ll be sure to finish and have your favors done in time for your big day, and keep yourself from some undue stress.

Step #3 – Decide what type of favors you want.

For cheap wedding favors, the best ideas usually involve buying something in bulk such as chocolates or Jordan almonds, and then assembling them into take-home packets of some sort. It might also mean purchasing less expensive items and then dressing them up somehow, such as small picture frames or boxes of bonbons that you wrap in silver wrapping.

The decision of which cheap wedding favors you select will be tied in with your budget. If you decide on those small boxes of bonbons, you need to figure the price of the chocolates, the wrapping paper, and anything else you need to put them together. If you want those Jordan almonds in take-home bags, you need to add up the cost of the almonds, the bags, and anything you use to tie the bags with, or personalized labels if you use those. It helps to do some comparison shopping for different ideas you have for cheap wedding favors, and then you can look at the costs for each item and make your decision from there.

Step #4 – Enlist some help.

Your bridesmaids and maid of honor may already be doing a lot of work for you to get ready for the big day, but you probably will need some help when it comes time to actually prepare those cheap wedding favors. It’s too easy to assume that you can just zip through an assembly line of chocolate and bags and whatever else, but you’d be surprised how much time these things can take, and how frustrated you get. If your friends are already at their limit with responsibilities, ask your future mother-in-law or future sister-in-law or even the flower girls, if they’re old enough. Chances are they would love to pitch in for an evening and see what they can get done.

Step #5 – Make your plan, and stick to it.

Some people are just very hypercritical of their own work, and it’s easy to start panicking and assume that your guests will know that these are cheap wedding favors or that you should have opted for something else. But remember, your guests will probably be happy with whatever you choose to give them, and chances are you’re just feeling nervous overall. Relax, work through your plan, and reassure yourself that your choice of favors is the right one.

It is not as easy as you think, the plan and preparation can make or break your big day. Let’s start with bridal supplies, one of the most important bridal supplies is the wedding gown. Wedding dresses especially the bridal gown is very important and exciting for the bride. And as a result, first in the bride’s checklist is her wedding gown. Of course as the bride, you want to choose the gown that perfectly matches your personality and taste. Prices of wedding gowns may vary according to style, design and fabrics they are made of. Whether or not you have an elegant wedding dress, the most important thing is to make sure the attire fits your body and style, according to your budget preference.

To come up with the desired attire, first you want to have a wide selection of wedding gowns and other dresses. How will you find them? You can look in bridal magazines where bridal wears and fashion are featured. Also, consider browsing online which can give you several bridal wear ideas you might want to consider. There are dozens of online stores that sell bridal gowns and dresses, they include online catalogs for customers to easily access their items. Also, another cool thing about online shopping is, they can offer cheap bridal gowns for those who have a tight budget. But to order your own wedding dress online, you need to consider some details so that you can avoid any problems.

When purchasing your bridal wear, whether it is from a local bridal shop or online store, you need to make a decision first on what type of wedding dress you would like to buy. It is important to understand what style or design you would like to have for your dress before you start searching. Considering there are too many selections of styles in the market and it is a complete waste of time searching for nothing in a bunch. You have to be specific in picking the right gown for you.

Another important rule, the style and design of your wedding dress should coordinate with the wedding theme. For instance, you have a traditional wedding theme, which is very basic and casual, so probably you want to choose a more formal dress. However if you have a beach themed wedding, your gown should be less formal. Whether it is formal or informal, the most important thing is the dress should match the theme of wedding you want to have. If shopping online is your preference, you need to try your desired dress at the bridal shop. In this way, you can make sure that the dress fits you, also to help you ensure that you are really purchasing the dress that you want.

Also, you need to follow your budget preference by comparing different prices for your gown. Remember, you can compare not only prices of your bridal accessories from online stores but also from local bridal shops. Wedding ideas can be very expensive, so you want to be very picky as to accommodate your budget preference.

Sending your guests home with a little something special to remember the day by doesn’t have to be a big budget extravagant affair. Use your imagination and a dash of creativity and you’ll find ways to turn the ubiquitous wedding favor into a charming highly personalized statement that says a lot about you and the guest.

The tradition of making your own wedding favors is almost as old as the custom of marriage itself. In the days before mass production and online shopping made our lives so much easier, a bride would pack little bags of fruits and nuts to pass on to guests at her wedding.

Edible Wedding Favors

A really great way to stay within your wedding budget, practice your baking skills and send guests home with a delicious personalized memento of the day is to use edible wedding favors. Cookies are a time honored classic. With cookie cutter shapes ranging from the classic hearts and flowers to stars, moon, shells, and leaves, you’ll have an array of designs to choose from. Download an easy cookie recipe, monogram your initials into them, use icing sugar and sprinkles to decorate, pack in little tins or boxes, or wrap in colored translucent paper and tie with a tiny ribbon and voila! You have a delicious wedding favor that’s within your budget.

When it comes to tickling the taste buds you can’t go wrong with chocolate. Ask your local confectioner to whip up a batch of little chocolate hearts monogrammed with your initials of course, or make your own choco treats. Wrap these in gold paper and finish with a snazzy bow. Lollipops are another quirky edible wedding favor; remember to personalize them with your names.

Seed Wedding Favors

Seeds are symbolic of new beginnings, and therefore make an excellent choice for a wedding favor. While these are available online prettily packaged and all, you can also make your own seed packet wedding favors. It’s just a matter of choosing what seeds you want to hand out. Forget me nots are a great choice, but herbs, fruits and vegetable seeds will also do just great. Pack the seed into small squares of fabric and attach a tag that has the name of the seed and instructions on how to plant it and care for it.

Personalized CDs

Modern technology makes it possible for everyone to indulge her creative side with fantastic results. Use your computer to create place card holder cards using beautiful fonts. Or create your own romance themed CD for each guest to take home.

Scrubs and Soaps

Go the extra mile and gift your guests homemade soaps and scrubs as wedding favors. Scout online for easy ways to make deliciously scented little soaps, pack them in translucent boxes or glass jars and round off with a colored bow. You can even “brand” the soaps after both your names for a laugh! Do the same for scrubs or home made lotions. Add paper tags with your wedding date and names printed out, and watch your wedding favors quickly become the talk at every table!

Making your own wedding favors may require some imaginative time scheduling, but work perfectly for smaller weddings with a limited number of guests.

An Unforgettable Wedding Gift – Cake Towel

One of the most remarkable and beautiful wedding gifts I have ever seen was created by one of my sisters for another sister’s wedding. She built a pristine “wedding cake” from white towels and decorated it with ribbons, held in place with pearl pins, and hid a cd in one of the layers, not that anything additional was needed. The “cake” was such a work of art it stole the show from the real cake! Everyone wanted to know who had made it, how long it took, etc, and no one with a camera passed up a chance for a snapshot of it.

Creating a towel cake can be as simple or as complicated as you need it to be. It is easy to make it unique with your own special touches and add personal touches that will make it an unforgettable part of any wedding or shower.

This is easy to make and the bride to be will love the personalized touch! The colors can be coordinated to go with the wedding theme and colors.

Step 1. Roll the Towels

Fold each hand towel in half lengthwise twice. Start with one end and roll the towels together. Set aside. Repeat this process with the wash cloths. Fold each bath towel in half lengthwise and repeat the folding until the width of the towel is roughly 6″. Roll the two towels together in the same way as the hand towels. You should now have the three layers of the cake.

Step 2. Assembling The Layers

I used large wide rubber bands to hold each individual layer together for ease of handling. To decorate choose ribbon in colors that coordinate with the towels or wedding colors. My niece had requested purple towels so I selected a wide white ribbon adorned with pearls. Cut the ribbon into 60″, 40″ and 30″ lengths. Tie the large piece around the bath towels layer and repeat for the other two cake layers. When complete, stack the cake layers starting with the largest layer at the bottom. I used small pins to hold the layers in place. If you do use pins try to place them through the tags on the towels not the towels themselves.

Step 3.

This is the fun part! Use your imagination and decorate with silk flowers, fall leaves or wedding bells. I placed the cake on a footed cake plate for presentation.

These tasteful cakes look so delicious. But please do not eat. It is the soft cotton washing clothes artfully hand wrapped to resemble a tasteful cake. This delicious looking designed favor will make your mouth water, but it is calorie free. They are great for wedding favors, bay showers, gift baskets, Christmas stocking items and all other occasions

Different Towel Cakes for Different Occasions

A towel cake is a unique and creative way to give a Gift for a wedding shower or a housewarming gift. I use matching bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths for the Towel cake. There will be 2 – 30 X 54″ bath towels, 4 – 16 X 26″ hand towels and 3 – 12 X 12 wash cloths. For a romantic theme, I use bath products such as lotions, bubble bath, incense, bath beads and other items. For a bath/kitchen theme, I use wooden spoons, wire wisks, spatulas and other cooking utensils. The color schemes vary and can be specified by the customer. The ribbons used can be specified to be a wedding theme, otherwise the ribbons will be color coordinated to the color of the towels used. The towel cake pictured is a chocolate cake theme. The bottle in the top of the cake is a champaign shaped bottle of scented bubble bath. Additional picture will be posted in the future.

Wedding Towel Cakes are Full of Charming Surprises!

The first thing to consider when makeing wedding towel cakes is what kind of towels to use. The usual “recipe” calls for two bath towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths, all white. But you can adjust towel cakes to include any type or number of towels you want. If you know what color towels the couple would prefer, choose accordingly. Don’t skimp on quality. You’ll only save a few dollars, and the appearance of your towel wedding cakes will suffer.

Decorations for your wedding towel cakes are limited only by your imagination. The tiers of wedding towel cakes would look elegant “belted” with wide ribbon. Or tie smaller bows and pin them here and there. Faux flowers are another possibility. Pearl-topped straight pins inserted around the edges give a finished look, help hold the cake together, and are a gift in themselves. Make sure, though, to warn the recipient of the hazard.

Your finished towel wedding cakes will have to sit on something, and a pretty bath tray would be perfect. You might want to buy the tray before putting the towel cakes together to make sure of a good fit. You could also set the cake on a matching round bath mat or rug. Surround the cake with scented flower-shaped soaps. Tie a bow around the handle of a fancy pumice scrubber and lay it beside the towel cake as a “server.”

Cake Towel Gain More Popularity

Cake towel is practical and yet full of personality; so despite of the price which is a bit higher than traditional wedding gifts, people still prefer it as cute and romantic Wedding Gifts for the once a lifetime occassion.

Currently, towels sold as, for instance, a gift are folded in various manner and arranged in a storage box, and the top side of the storage box is covered with a transparent film, so that the customers can see the arranged towel(s) inside the box through the film, thus drawing the attention of the customers and increase the customer’s desire to purchase. Among these, with the focus on characteristics such as the towel’s texture, thickness, and flexibility, some towels are formed into animals and dolls by way of attaching the towel cloth by sewing or fastening with a pin or the like, thus being offered exclusively as decorations.

In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for cake-shaped decorative accessories using a towel cloth as a gift or present, and there has been a demand for other types of decorative accessories that have a cake shape.

Traditional wedding gifts such as chocolate gifts are so common that people want to add some personality and uniqueness to their wedding gift; cake towel seems to be a perfect choice.

What is the difference between diamond rings with the diamond band? Maybe for some people that is a stupid question, but actually I ask this question once . The difference is for the diamond ring usually only use 1-3 diamonds just on one side of the ring, while diamond band use more than three diamonds, usually with same size and same type of cut.

Diamond band or some people call it eternity band reflects a never ending love; it would be a perfect gift for a wedding anniversary. But of course, it’s perfect for fashion too.

Since diamond dominated the diamond band appearance, so it’s better if you learn a little about diamond. Usually diamond that used for diamond band is not a number one quality diamond. Because if it is number one quality, I bet that would be super duper expensive, and you have to insurance that. And the insurance also as expensive as the diamond band price.

4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat) are the four aspects that mention about diamond quality and determine the price.

First, we talk about the color. Color of the diamond describe by a letter from D to Z. D is most colorless diamond, while Z means the diamond have light yellow color. From grade D-G can consider as a colorless diamond, H-L near colorless, from M bellow will have yellowish color. Usually the diamond used in diamond band have grade H-L.

Clarity means diamond purity. Best clarity diamond describes as Internally Flawless (IF). Here are the orders of diamond clarity: IF-VVS1-VVS2-VS1-VS2-SI1-SI2-I1-I2-I3. VVS means Very Very Slightly Included (the diamond has a very very small inclusion), VS means Very Slightly included, SI means Slightly included, while “I” mean the diamond have inclusions that can be seen by a trained naked eyes.

Cut will determine how well diamond reflects the light. Good cut will reflect the light that enters the diamond back to the surface of the diamond and makes the diamond looks shine and sparkle. Poor cut will cause the light that enters diamonds exits through the bottom or the sides of diamond.

Carat is the weight of the diamond. 1 Carat (1.00ct) = 100 points diamond = 0.2 gram. So if there any 50 point diamond, means that diamond is half a carat (0.50ct) = 0.1 gram.

That’s all the basic 4C’s. I won’t tell the detail in this article, because if I tell it in detail it would be a long article, and of course boring

I see so many questions about who to invite, how to decide to invite, to a wedding. Here is a thought. If a couple is limited to a certain number of invitations, invite who really wants to come. If people are gung-ho and dying to be invited, invite them. If someone closer seems lukewarm and you get the feeling they don’t care, do them a favor and don’t invite them. I have been invited to weddings and declined, and sometimes accepted, that I felt it would have been easier not to be invited. Where I had no idea why they would invite me.

What do you all think?
It’s an idea I am floating out there. I remember my mom many years ago, invited to her sister’s grandson’s wedding, she kept saying “they wouldn’t know me if they fell over me”. My real point is, better to have a reception full of happy guests who really want to be there, than a bunch of ‘duty attendees’.

And I was invited to a friend’s daughter’s wedding, who I am not close to, and her fiance never spoke to me. There had to be someone who would have wanted my invitation, which I was told to decline quickly, so they could invite the B list! I had no idea why I was on the A list.
