Its been many years since my wedding and I can’t believe how much everything has changed for the better, including the decorations. It’s amazing what is out there and the variety you can choose from. There were plenty of suggestions for beach weddings that I thought were very nice with little seashells, starfish and other oceanside designs. There were also some pretty clever ideas for garden and other summer and spring weddings and receptions. You could get beautiful new wedding accessories for all 4 seasons. The season that was amazing was the winter season because of all the Christmas colors and decorations you can add to your reception. Did you know that some couples actually have a winter wedding outside? To me having a wedding in the winter outside would be a beautiful site to see and yet a little way out of the norm. I think I’d rather have my winter wonderland wedding and reception, indoors, where it’s warm. Maybe a ski resort would be a good place for a winter wedding, with all the fireplaces and cozy winter atmosphere.

An autumn wedding is so gorgeous and one of my favorite seasons, and has lot to offer in wedding accessories and reception supplies. Autumn is the best season for me and the best time to have a wedding, with it’s colorful background as your main motif. My wedding day was so long ago that the choices we had were being married in the church or running away and getting married. Now there are so many different types of weddings you can really have your ceremony exactly the way you want to. I’ve heard of weddings where the location is out of state or even the country and all the friends and famliy fly to that location to have the wedding ceremony. It’s like having a family elopement. There are also a variety of new favors suggestions for everything from traditional to destination weddings that you can buy for your reception.

Soon my daughter will be getting married and I have been helping her to prepare for her country western wedding and reception. At first I thought that idea was just a little out there, but the more we got into the actual planning, the more I liked it. She found cake toppers that have a western theme to them, plus everything she needed for her bridal table, including western champagne flutes. They’re really quite unique looking. She hired a country band and placed grills and hay around for the party setting. She plans to string lights and lanterns everywhere outside for her big country reception party. Also she purchased centerpieces and name card holders that are western style. They’ve arranged to rent a dude ranch for this event, which really surprised me, because, I didn’t know you could even do that. She purchased many wedding and reception embellishments on the internet and they went with the country western style. She ordered delightful new party favors for all their friends and family and cowboy hats for the bride and groom.

It’s looks like when this is finished being planned, that it will be a big family barbecue with dear friends. I know it will be a lot of fun and enjoyment for everybody. I was surprised to hear that they are going to have a barn dance in a good ole country western style. Now that I knew what to expect I decided to get all the western gear, like blue jeans, cowboy boots, and cowboy hats so I can participate in all the fun. This wedding is going to be the wedding of the year and probably won’t be forgotten for a long time. Thanks to my daughters great country themed wedding, she’s given me a great idea for our anniversary.

Ch

A March wedding can be a beautiful spring affair.  The weather is still a bit chilly but your guests will know that spring is definitely in the air. March can be the perfect time to begin your lives together with a beautiful wedding.  Take advantage of some pre-season discounts and avoid the rush of wedding season with a lovely March affair.

Invitations

Take advantage of the light pastel colors of the season and make a bright wedding invitation.  Some patterns that look great for a March wedding invitation include cherry blossoms, pinstripe and polka dots.  Think light and bright with yellow, baby blue, light pink, celadon green and lavender.

Also, if you’re sending your spring-themed wedding invitations on time, they should reach your guests around January or February (depending on when in March your wedding date is set for) – just in time to relieve your guests of the winter doldrums.

Decorations

Seasonal flowers for March include Gerbera daisies, pastel dyed roses, Chrysanthemum, Snap Dragons and Sweet Peas. Take your cues from these light colors and accent with your flowers.  Choosing flowers that are in season can save you some money and give your wedding bouquet a fresh look.

Reception and menu

March is not high-season for weddings, so don’t be afraid to ask your reception venue, florist, caterer and other vendors for off-season discounts.  Wedding season doesn’t ‘technically’ start until June, so you might be able to save some money with your March nuptials.

While there is no rule about which foods to serve you might consider fresh foods and baby vegetables to pair with a light chicken or salmon dish.  A crisp salad with candied nuts and fruits can add a fresh and unique touch to your menu.

For the bar, offer both red and white wines.  Pick out a fruity spring-themed signature cocktail, like a lemon-drop martini or cherry limeade for our signature beverage. And if the weather is still chilly, you might want to add a fun warm beverage or coffee bar, too.

Weather

Don’t let the chilly weather deter you.  You might not be able to have an outdoor ceremony just yet, so make sure you have an indoor plan. If you do plan any outdoor activities, make sure you note on your invitation about your outdoor plans so your guests can dress for the weather.

Attire

Again, the weather may dictate some of your details for you.  Most likely, the chilly temperatures will keep you and your guests inside.  Any day in March could be warm and then turn chilly.  You might be able to sneak in a ceremony and then move inside for your reception.  Additionally, plan on dressing your bridesmaids appropriately for the weather; consider a sleeved dress or a wrap to go with their dress.  This will keep them warm and prepared for just about any weather situation.

March can be a beautiful time to plan your wedding.  Start with a bright pastel invitation and you’ll have everyone excited for your beautiful spring affair.  You might not be able to have an outdoor affair for ceremony and reception, but you will have a beautiful and unique wedding that will be long remembered.

Bored of getting the most common wedding favors? Now that it’s your turn to give out one, why not do away with the usual bride-and-groom figurines, key chains and small picture frames? It’s time for you to exercise your creative juices when picking out wedding favors for your beloved guests.

When selecting for wedding favors, you basically have a very wide array of choices. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the wedding favors you’ve chosen are within your budget. And of course, these little keepsakes would be in line with the theme of your wedding.

Here a few wedding favor suggestions that have a flair for uniqueness and creativity.

Wine Stoppers

If you want to impress, then why don’t you use wine stoppers as wedding keepsakes. These wine accessories would look chic and modern, especially if you choose unique designs. In addition, wine stoppers would prove to be very useful as it is really hard to put back the cork once a bottle is already opened. These wine stoppers would preserve those highly volatile and sought-after vintage wines.

These wedding favors come in different shapes and sizes, especially the top part. You can select from cork, rubber or plastic wine stoppers. There are also stoppers that are made of wood, plastic, or even crystals and special metals. Surely, with enough time to scout for them, you can get the wine stoppers that would fit your taste and mood.

Fairytale-Inspired Ornaments

If your wedding is one that’s inspired by a fairytale, then it’s but proper that your wedding favors would have a touch of magic and romance. Just make sure, however, that the tiny things you’ve chosen as wedding keepsake aren’t things related to the villains of the fairytales. Otherwise, it would create a very negative impression.

For instance, if you’re a Cinderalla fan, then you could make use of her tiny Cinderella coach ornaments. You could even look for glass slipper miniatures. These wedding favors would truly add a romantic and magical touch to your already magnificent fairytale wedding.

If you are a fan of Iron Heinrich, then you can always come up with Frog Prince scented candles. These green stuffs would look truly refreshing and “hopeful.”

Garden Items

If you are having a garden wedding, then your wedding favors should also speak of the same scenery. If you’re crazy about daisies, then why don’t you look for scented candles that are shaped like those blossoms? You could even go for rose-shaped candles if you are a fan on this type of flower.

A garden-themed wedding is not just about flowers. Expand your horizon and make use of other things that can be found in the garden. Pails are one of them; so miniature tin pails with tiny petals would also prove to be great wedding favors. Get into the seasons drama and come up with personalized fall leaves as wedding keepsakes. These meaningful leaves can be made of plastic or crepe paper, among other materials.

Remember, however, that the success of a wedding ceremony does not solely lie on the beauty of your wedding favors. There are other aspects of the wedding preparation that need your attention. But if you have the luxury of time and money, it wouldn’t hurt to get creative with your wedding favors. After all, as keepsakes, they are the things that your guests will remember you by.

One of the most enjoyable parts of planning a wedding or event is getting creative with the décor. Before making any decisions, it’s important to set out a budget for what is to be allotted for the decorations. Next, a color theme should be chosen not only for the wedding party, but also for the color palette of the venue décor and flowers. Be sure to decide if you want the reception or ceremony to be causal or black tie, traditional or modern, so you can decorate accordingly. Here are a few creative ways to incorporate color and style into any décor budget:

Flowers:
A main focus for the wedding and reception, flowers add fragrance, ambiance and beauty to any room. From the bridal bouquet to table centerpieces, flowers can either be in the same color palette as the wedding party, or you can use contrasting colors to give them the attention they deserve. While flowers can be expensive, the silk kind are more real looking than ever, and they allow you to choose any color or style no matter if they are in season or not! Check with florists to ask about a discount on bulk orders, or stop by a local farmer’s market to inquire about flowers grown in the area. Some of these smaller florists are willing to cut a deal to get the business.

Tablescapes:
The choice of dinnerware, tablecloths, napkins and place cards are all also beautiful ways to get creative. Many venues offer the use of tables and chairs, as well as tablecloths and chair ribbons, but prices for such services can add up. Instead, think about going to a local fabric store and purchasing swatches to add to plain white tablecloths. Place cards offer guests direction when it comes to seating, so be sure to add these to each place setting.

Centerpieces:
Here is where you can get really creative! Flowers, candles, even miniature pumpkins for fall weddings or Christmas Tree Ornaments for a winter wedding all look beautiful when enhanced with tea lights or small vases of flowers. Candles are a beautiful and romantic way to set the mood in the reception for an elegant dinner party, and they are also very economical. At themed weddings, you can get creative with centerpieces, such as a sand and seashell combination for a beach-like wedding or pine cones and other materials for an outdoor wedding.

There is no limit to what you can do with a wedding or event. Balloons are tastefully done at many wedding receptions, in the colors of the wedding party or more traditional colors like silver and white. Using balloons on the dance floor gives it a festive look, as well as using them to attach to the getaway car for the bride and groom. Whether you’re planning the wedding yourself or using the help of a wedding or event planner, there are many styles, colors and ideas you can find through bridal magazines and websites to incorporate into the wedding, or even adapt with more economical ideas to stay within your budget.

Every wedding is a wonderful, beautiful, and memorable event. Each wedding is also a unique event that is set apart by special choices made by the bride and groom during the wedding planning process. Each of these decisions weighs on choosing the right wedding invitation wording for the occasion.

It is important for the bride and groom to make some decisions prior to purchasing their wedding invitations and choosing the right wedding invitation wording. It has become very popular for brides and grooms to choose a theme for their wedding. This can range from a beach theme wedding to a seasonal wedding. The bride and groom may choose a more traditional route and choose a specific colour scheme. Whether the wedding will be casual or formal, the wedding invitation wording should reflect these choices.

It is important for the bride and groom to convey the tone of their wedding to the guests and this is done through the wedding invitations and wedding invitation wording. This is often the only communication between some of the guests and the bride and groom prior to their wedding. This includes those distant relatives and friends of the family that the couple may have never even met. It is important for the guests to know what to expect before the wedding. This will ensure that they bring a proper gift and dress appropriately.

Every invitation must include certain crucial information that is conveyed through the wedding invitation wording. This includes the date, time, and location of the ceremony. If the reception will be held at a different location or at a much later time, then this should be included as well. The bride and groom should also include their full names. This is especially important for those distant relatives and family friends who may not know the bride or groom. In addition, the names of those hosting the wedding should be included if they are different than the bride and groom. All of this information is easily inserted into the wedding invitation wording.

Wedding invitation wording is easy to choose. Every wedding invitation retailer will have examples of the most popular wedding invitation wording. The bride and groom can choose from these or combine several to suit their individual needs. All that must be done is to add their personal information to the prewritten wedding invitation wording. If the bride and groom choose, they can also write their own wedding invitation wording. Regardless of what they choose, it is important to keep with the tone of the wedding.

The wedding invitation wording is one of the easiest decisions for the bride and groom to make during the wedding planning process, but it is one that has a big impact. The bride and groom should try to express themselves and their love while maintaining the tone of the wedding that they want to convey to their guests.

What is a traditional British wedding? No doubt for many inhabitants of these islands, the standard wedding will somehow involve a church, fancy cars, some hired penguin suits, a teary mother and a tiered fruit cake. It’s amazing how vivid this imagery remains despite much of it no longer having a place in the modern wedding experience – in fact church ceremonies account for only about a third of all UK weddings. A blend of multiculturalism, a growing informality and a reduction in the role of the church have played their parts; but the result is a dazzling array of options for the open-minded couple. GettingPersonal.co.uk looks at the options:

Bells and altars
This is the traditional wedding, if you like. The bride and groom wake up in different houses, the bride gets made up and dressed, assisted by the mother and bridesmaids, the groom goes to the pub, the best man loses the ring, the father of the bride gets all philosophical and the clans sit on opposite flanks of the church. Inevitably the church wedding will be a religious affair, with hymns, prayers and vows, and then it’s off to the reception for speeches and dinner, and then everyone prepares for the evening do.

The registry office
Here the couple will make their vows in public but the religious aspects are stripped away. It’s all legal, official and often informal and takes place in a council building … but is no less romantic for it. Favourite songs, poetry readings and anecdotes are often interspersed between the official activities. And nor are they for the down at heel or shotgun weddings – don’t forget that Charles and Camilla tied the knot in a registry office.

All-in-one
Now that all sorts of venues can apply for the right to hold weddings, hotels and stately homes have got in on the act. Hotels are particularly popular because they offer all-day packages that include the wedding, the reception and the evening function all in one place. And guests coming from all over the world can usually get a discounted room too, which might result in more expensive wedding presents (but don’t count on it). There’s also no need for limos and umbrellas, making this option popular in Scotland and Manchester.

The civil ceremony
Another change in the law has allowed for same-sex marriages to take place. This will almost certainly take place in the registry office or another licensed venue, but other than that it’s exactly the same as a traditional wedding – two people declaring their love for each other among friends and family.

The themed wedding
And then there are the weddings that really exercise the couple’s imagination or indulge their fantasies. A favourite is the medieval or Robin Hood wedding, where damsels, knights, knaves and peasants come together for a truly memorable wedding. Everyone dresses up, there will probably be a hog roast and traditional English music (Bryan Adams), and a good time is had by all. History and fantasy are equally plundered, with wedding themes including baroque, 18th century ball, Wild West saloon, skydiving, Roman, biker, Lord of the Rings … or whatever else takes their fancy.

Get away from it all
Of course, not everyone wants to take their chances with the British weather, which is why many people opt to start their honeymoon early and get married abroad. So don’t be surprised to be invited to a genuine Las Vegas wedding or to see people exchanging vows on a tropical beach.

* * *

So although we all probably have an idea of what a traditional wedding is, knots are being tied in all manner of ways, some wacky, some practical. And if your wedding gifts match the occasion, you’ll be more than welcome to attend! As soon as you know what type of wedding you’re attending, half an hour on GettingPersonal.co.uk’s wedding gifts pages will arm you with loads of fitting and unique gift ideas.

After all, some traditions are still part of the modern wedding, but others have fallen by the wayside. The only constant is that the newlyweds like nothing better than to have loads of lovely wedding gifts to open; Better still, if they’re unique and personalised gifts that come with a smile!

Choosing a wedding date depends on many factors. One way of deciding is choosing your favorite season of the year. Each season offers its own style and flavor to a wedding. The time of the year you will get married will surely affect the approach and styles you will apply in planning the wedding of your dreams. This will include selecting the ideal ceremony location, the appropriate flower arrangements and other important aspects of the wedding.

Whatever type of wedding you desire; there will definitely be a season best for you. There is always the possibility of having part of the celebration outside especially if its summer or spring. Just imagine all the moments captured in the wedding videography as you recite your wedding vows against a scenic lake or a snow covered mountain. Just remember to have an alternative plan if ever Mother Nature decides to take control.

There are numerous reasons to get married in autumn. The richest colors are often seen in the fall season. The weather is mild and crisp creating spectacular scenery. Gold and copper theme is what comes into mind during this season. Flowers are rich in colors like purples, yellow and reds. Wedding decorations have an earthy feel around it as the wedding ceremony is ornamented with autumn flowers and wreaths. The wedding decoration can also include apples and pears because these seasonal fruits are available all year round.

A winter wonderland wedding can be the ideal set up for your wedding. It creates an ambiance of romance as snow falls outside during the exchange of wedding vows. This will definitely be an indoor event either in a romantic villa or hotel. The wedding decorations can include red and golden candles with winter blooms of tulips, snowdrops and white geisha. Winter fruits that can be enjoyed are cherries and apricots. Fewer people get married during this season which allows you to get better location choices. Hotels are beautifully decorated for the season, so you will be able to save on that feature but still enjoy a joyful affair. Traditionally, families gather during the holiday which is another benefit in planning your wedding at this time.

June is considered the best month to marry. One reason for this is that this is the first month of predictable good weather. Roses are usually in full bloom during this month. The summer months also mean the sun and the sea. During this time, beach themed weddings are popular. There are many available beach resorts that can make your dream beach wedding ceremony a reality. But getting married in summer can pose a lot of challenges too. Wedding locations and vendors are usually in high demand during these months. It is a good idea to plan every detail and book wedding services ahead of time.

Spring is the time for birth and renewal. This season will provide you with beautiful gardens, abundant with different kinds of roses and blooms. Fruits available for this time of year are peaches and passion fruits. Pastels colors will work best for the whole wedding entourage. Pick colors like lilacs, baby blues, blushing pinkand sandy gold. These magnificent colors of spring will surely be captured in your wedding videography.

Choosing a wedding date on a particular time of the year can definitely set the atmosphere for your wedding whether it may be a winter wonderland or a beach wedding. Just remember that whatever season you choose, it really does not matter as long as you and your fiancé are able to enjoy your special day together.
